Welcome to CareTown

Start here. CareTown is an imaginary healthcare town where each stop helps you explore real-world healthcare roles, ask better questions, and collect clues about what may fit you. Its places, characters, and story situations are fictional.

Unit and activity

A unit is a shorter lesson inside a module. An activity is one task inside that unit.

Your instructor may ask you to complete an activity on your own, with a partner or small group, or as a whole class. The learning goal stays the same.

Resources

Related real-world roles

CNA or nurse assistant, phlebotomist, EMT, pharmacy technician, medical assistant, sterile processing technician, community health worker, and peer support worker are examples of real-world occupations, not CareTown story characters and not promises of current job openings. They are included to help you compare roles and ask better questions. CareTown uses California examples as regional context; program names, training rules, openings, and employer requirements can change. If you may study or work in another state, verify that state's current licensing, certification, and transfer rules with the official board or program.
